Factory lights are essential for efficient factory working. Good light levels enhances the worker efficiency, Reduces the chances of accidents and can bring happiness.
Four points are essential for good quality factory lighting
1) Factories need light intensity levels above 500 Lux or more at waist level. Many high end factories are now opting out for lux levels of 1000 and above, for Good feel, higher worker morale, efficiency and error free working.
2) Another important factor in Factory lighting is the color temperature of the light. Color temperature. Colour-temprature in simple terms is color of light with respect to that of Sun during different times of the day. Like early morning Sun in early spring is yellowish golden and is about 4000 kelvin. A little later t about 9 am is is about 5000-5700 Kelvin, and by afternoon the blue spectrum rises and that makes light color temperature at 6500 Kelvin. This light appears more white, but is quite harsh, and is known to create fatigue.
So usually 4000-5000 K is the most recommended color for Office work and public space areas. Where as 500-5700K is recommended for Factories and places where detailed work is being carried out.
3 ) Factory lights should always be lit from the Top. Multiple numbers of such lights would ensure that there are no shadows created by one light when it falls down on work area and the workers, equipment or the Material on the shop floor.
4) Factory light should not be mounted on the walls. This hampers the work, by creating long sharp shadows and also causes severe glare.
For factories with ceiling height between 4 to 8 meters, if is recommended to have lights with 90 degree lenses, And for factories higher than 8 meter height, lights with 60 degree lens should be used.
Always ask us for free light simulation for our facility. We provide this for free, using IES Files of our lights and do an electronic assessment, of Number of lights, height of the light and position of lights, to give uniform lighting and Proper lux levels. Please visit tucanalights.com for requesting for a free simulation.
